Elena Passarello’s essays on performance, pop culture, and the natural world have recently appeared in Tin House, McSweeney’s, Paris Review, and Best American Science and Nature Writing 2018. She is the author of two collections, Let Me Clear My Throat and Animals Strike Curious Poses, which made the Best Books of 2017 lists of several publications, including the New York Times, the Guardian, and Publisher's Weekly. A recipient of the 2015 Whiting Award and the 2018 Oregon Book Award, Elena teaches in the MFA program at Oregon State University. She serves as nonfiction editor for Iron Horse Review, co-editor of the In Place book series, and as a board member for the largest international conference on nonfiction, NonfictionNow.
