Naomi Iizuka

Naomi Iizuka (playwriting) is the author of numerous plays including 36 ViewsPolaroid StoriesAnon(ymous)Language of AngelsAloha, Say the Pretty GirlsTattoo GirlAt the Vanishing PointThe Last Firefly; Skin; and Sleep. Her plays have been produced by Berkeley Rep, the Goodman, the Guthrie, Cornerstone, Children’s Theater Company, the Kennedy Center, the Huntington Theater, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Portland Center Stage, the La Jolla Playhouse, the Public Theatre, Brooklyn Academy of Music, and Soho Rep. Iizuka is an alumna of New Dramatists and the recipient of a PEN/Laura Pels Award, an Alpert Award, a Joyce Foundation Award, a Whiting Award, a Stavis Award from the National Theatre Conference, a PEN Center USA West Award for Drama, and Princeton University’s Hodder Fellowship. Her play Good Kids was the first play commissioned by the Big Ten Consortium and was produced at six of the Big Ten schools. She is currently working on commissions from South Coast Rep, Yale Rep, and the McCarter Theatre. Iizuka heads the MFA playwriting program at the University of California, San Diego.
